Recent widower, writer George Schneider, is encouraged by his younger brother
Leo to start dating again. This sends George into even more depression after a series of bad matches. Then Leo comes up with Jennie Malone, and she’s a keeper.
Still, it’s a bumpy trip on the road to Dreamland for these not-so-young lovers.
George and Jennie stumble on, overcoming both their hesitation on the rebound
and emotional neediness. In a hilarious, farcical subplot, Leo has a fling with Faye, Jennie’s neurotic married friend.

About this performance
This Neil Simon gem has a cast of four – two men, two women – set in two
apartments in New York’s upper East Side and lower Central Park West and
is not only very funny in typical Simon style, but also has a deeper
side in the form of marital problems and loss.
It requires good American accents!

CHAPTER TWO – Brief breakdown of characters
George Schneider: An attractive, intelligent man; a successful writer
who has recently been widowed which has badly affected him.
Leo Schneider: George’s slightly younger brother; a Press Agent for show
business clients – an outgoing, worldly and slightly ‘over the top’
character.
Jenni Malone: Attractive, smart woman who is efficient, organised, but
has recently been through a painful divorce which has left her rather
vulnerable.
Faye Medwick: Jenni’s close friend – a ‘bit more surburban’ than Jenni –
bright, funny, but currently rather frustrated at the state of her
marriage.
